History
The first Crime Stoppers program was born in Albuquerque, NM
in 1976. A young detective enlisted the local media to reenact
the murder of a local gas station attendant. This was then
publicized and a cash reward was offered. Anonymous tips led to
an arrest and subsequent conviction of the murderer. Now there
are over 1200 Crime Stoppers programs worldwide and they
boast an average 96% conviction rate.

Our Program
The Jackson County Crime Stoppers program was started in
2006 and is a collaboration of the Jackson County Sheriff's
Department, the PBP Tribal Police Department, and the Holton
Police Department.
The program was initiated to offer members of the community a
way to provide much needed information while remaining
anonymous. It also offers a cash reward of up to $1000.00 if the
caller is eligible.
