- How does Crime Stoppers work?
When you submit information via the hotline or the webiste, you
will be given a random anonymous id number. You will have the
opportunity to check back later using your id number and see if
you are eligible for a reward.
- Am I eligible for a reward?
To be eligible to receive a reward for your information you meet
the following requirements:
- Tip information MUST be submitted directly to Jackson
County Crime Stoppers via the tip line or the website.
Information given in any other way is NOT ELIGIBLE for a
reward.
- Information provided that leads to the arrest of a suspect,
or to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a felony case, is
eligible for a reward.
- The following persons are NOT ELIGIBLE for a reward:
- Law enforcement officers, including reserve officers,
corrections officers, probation/parole officers, and
members of their immediate family.
- The perpetrator or co-perpetrator of the crime.
- The victim of the crime.
- The fugitive.
- If more than one person furnished information regarding
the same crime or fugitive, the reward money will be
divided as the Board may determine, based upon the
relative importance and timeliness of the informants'
information.
